Free radicals are created by exposure to sun & other noxious stimuli such as pollutants. They contribute to aging of the skin & skin cancer formation.

Antioxidants are substances that enhance protection from the sun and other damaging environmental insults; these substances scavenge free radicals and negate them. Some examples of antioxidants: Green tea, pomegranates, topical vitamin C in l-ascorbic acid form, vitamin E (topical form must be alpha-tocopherol to be effective), silymarin, soy, ferulic acid, CoffeeBerry®, & CoQ10.
